Dear Hetz and family,
Our sincere condolences to the entire Hartwig family. His passing will make life more lonely for you, Hetz, but in our better moments we will not begrudge him the glory which is now his. Praise our Lord that Don has now "gone to glory!" Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Mike Lenser and the entire Lenser family
My sincere condolences to the Hartwig family. I have many memories of doing things with Don and his family. From hunting up in Chaseburg to chasing walleyes on Lake Koshkonong. Being on the paint crew with Don during the summers and playing euchre and sheepshead in Don’s basement and also occasionally at Beinfangs bar after a long day of painting. For 22 years before I moved to Wisconsin Dells the Hartwig family was like my second family and Don treated me like one of his sons, I’ll never forget. Those days with Don and his family are truly some of the best days of my life.

I will always remember tobacco harvests and deer hunting times with Uncle Don. Watching him play cards and be on "beverage duty" for the table was always a colorful and entertaining event to be part of. The deer hunting stories and memories are only believable if you were there to experience them. Rest in Peace, Uncle Don, and thank you for all the childhood memories.
