As a former member of the Men of Blackhawk, or the "MOB" as Judy so affectionately called us, I have many wonderful memories of Judy. She was the most enthusiastic and expressive choir director that I have ever experienced. Every rehearsal and performance was a special occasion, including the traditional stops at Culvers between gigs. I am so glad that she responded to the notice on the music store bulletin board in Madison when the MOB was seeking a musical director. Judy also became a friend to the men in the MOB, as we came to know Judy and her family, especially Sara and Liam. The MOB spent many hours in prayer for Judy as she struggled through an unimaginable series of health issues over the past few years. One of my highlight experiences was the privilege of my wife and me traveling to New York City with Judy for a holiday theater outing. Judy knew everyone everywhere and took care of all of the details. It was a wonderful and exhausting trip that we will always remember. The MOB will really miss Judy and knows that she is irreplaceable. She's probably having a wonderful time in heaven trying to keep the angelic choir singing in key. Tom Hoffner
