Obituary of Helmer C. Haakenson

Helmer C. HAAKENSON, age 91, of Cambridge, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009, HospiceCare Center, in Fitchburg, WI. Helmer was born in Deerfield, Wisconsin on September 25, 1917, the son of Thomas and Sarah (Halverson) Haakenson. Helmer served is country in the AAA Coast Artillary during WWII. He resided in London, Wisconsin for many years and then Cambridge for 30 years. He worked in maintenance and as a farmhand for most of his life. Surviving are: His niece and nephews: Betty Nicka, Arnold Lindberg, Bill Johnson, Stanley Lindberg and Jerry Stenjem. Helmer was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Minnie Haakenson, Clara Stenjem, Tilla Lindberg and Gladys Johnson, a brother, Cornell Haakenson and nephews: John Erickson and Gary Erickson. Graveside Services with Military Rites will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 at St. Paul�s Liberty Lutheran Cemtery, Town of Deerfield, Wisconsin with Pastor Dan Dibbert of Grace Lutheran Church, Cambridge officiating.
