Obituary of Donald F. Knapp

Donald F. Knapp, age 77, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at University Hospital in Madison, WI. � Donald was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on July 4, 1931, the son of Frank A. and Proxedes (Herman) Knapp.� He graduated in 1949 from P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point, Wisconsin and from Spencerian College in Milwaukee with an accounting degree. Don served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954.� On September 21, 1957, Don married Phyllis Albertie in Stevens Point.� Don was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson.� He loved the outdoors, fishing, wood carving, furniture restoration and his grandchildren.� He also enjoyed spending time with his family at his lake cottage. �Surviving are: Wife: Phyllis Knapp, Fort Atkinson, WI, Four children: Mark Knapp, Franklin, WI, �Dale (Karen) Knapp, Stoughton, WI, �Michael (Patti) Knapp, Deerfield, WI, and Anne (Steven) Jahnke, Watertown, WI, Seven grandchildren: Timothy, Benjamin and Stephanie Knapp, Scott and Eric Jahnke, and Parker and Carson Knapp. �Don was preceded in death by his parents. �A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 12:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Atkinson with burial to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. �Friends may call after 11:00AM on Tuesday at the church until the services. �The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson is assisting the family
