Obituary of Robbie Mason Clement

Robbie Mason Clement, 75, Cambridge passed away at his home on Monday, February 27, 2023.

Robbie was born on July 9, 1947 in Marshfield, WI to Robert and Margaret (Atwood) Clement.  He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1965 and later from UW-Madison.  Robbie married Sandra Ferch on September 16, 1978 in Madison, WI.  Robbie was raised in a musical family and began making music at an early age.  He became a professional musician, entertaining audiences at schools, libraries, community events on the banjo, guitar, dulcimer and jaw harp accompaniment.

Robbie’s songs have been showcased on many Midwestern radio and television stations and has been aired on Public Radio across North America. He is the author of an internationally published series of guitar and banjo books, as well as a book of original songs.  Robbie is the founder of Tomorrow River Music, an artist collective and recording company and builder of the Whitlow Jaw Harp, which are handmade instruments tuned to pitch.

Robbie loved storytelling and sharing music with others.  He enjoyed nature and family trips to Lake Superior.  He had a kind heart and was a good listener who loved his family and dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy, Cambridge; daughters, Sally Rose Bates and Katie (Ryan) Tschanz; grandson, Kyle Tschanz. 

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.  Robbie will be greatly missed.
